PHOTOGRAPHY: One and Half Day Workshop
Teina Ryynanen 19 & 20 June 2015
Friday 7-9 pm
Saturday 12.30-5.30 pm

Are you stuck with your creativity when it comes to photography? Do you have an SLR-camera, but you always use it on automatic setting? Would you like to get feedback on your photography skills?

The purpose of the two day workshop is to see through your camera's lense in a different way and get new ideas for more creative and better pictures. It often doesn't take much, but understanding about composition, framing and rule of thirds can help you. And the most fun part, breaking the "rules" can be as much fun too! Main thing is a good idea - this is not a studio or technical course where we go through all of the cameras' different menus.

Friday night will be more of an introduction to basic photography techniques and talk about "what makes photo a good one"? Saturday we go out and take photographs and get feedback on them.

All you need is your camera, SLR or not, it doesn't matter. Also take a lead or memory card reader to load the photos to the computer.

Cost £55/45  for members.  Deposit of £5 secures a place, non refundable.

THE WHITE LINE PRINT: One Day Workshop
Leighton Bohl  25 April 2015

The ‘white line print’ was the innovation of a group of American women printmakers working in Provincetown, Maine, during the 1930s and 40s. The Provincetown artists adapted Japanese woodblock printing, but without its detailed, multiplate complexities. In fact, the ‘Provincetown Print’ is made without a printing press and on a single plate, but with as many colours as the artist/printmaker desires.

The purpose of the two day workshop is to introduce three distinct approaches to the white line, or Provincetown print using materials that are easily accessible and with printing methods that do not require any studio equipment. With an understanding of a few simple processes, prints can be created that are colourful and striking.

All the materials will be supplied, including inks, although students might like to bring along a basic water colour set and/or some tubes of gouache.

Cost £55/45  for members.  Deposit of £5 secures a place non returnable.
