Finger painting allows young children to discover different textures and colors before they can even hold a brush. With this paint, they can express their creativity from an early age.
This recipe is really simple and requires just a few ingredients. It will allow you to make paint that does not present any danger, even if it is brought to the mouth or in direct contact with the skin.
You will need :
2 cups of flour
1/2 cup salt
1/4 cup sugar
2 cups of cold water
Natural food coloring
Jars with lids
1. Mix the flour, salt and sugar in a bowl.
2. Add water and mix gently to make a paste.
If you find that the paste is not thick enough, you can add cornstarch and heat the mixture over low heat to thicken it.
3. Pour the mixture into different containers.
4. Add food coloring to the containers to create paint of different color.
5. Pour the paint into airtight containers.
Use it within 3 months.
Young children will really enjoy this new experience of drawing with their fingers. You can also use small sponges and, later, brushes adapted to their age.
